Grant Administration: Jamaican NGOs serving At-Risk Youth
Under the auspices of the EEH, J&A is the administrator of grants awarded to six NGO members of the People’s Action for Community Transformation (PACT), a coalition of community-based and non-governmental organisations working primarily in the inner city areas of Kingston and St. Andrew as well as the urban communities of St. Catherine and St. Thomas.
EEH assistance is being provided in overall program execution and fund management. Technical support to programs has involved procurement of educational equipment, providing training to NGO teachers, improving teaching skills to enhance student learning, and helping to form cross-sector alliances with private sector partnerships. J&A is contributing to PACT by supporting innovative programs that encourage youth at risk to stay in school and to succeed in their life goals.
