School Management Component
The EEH has introduced web-based data-driven decision making software at the school level via the use of the Jamaica School Administrative Software (JSAS). The JSAS, a system developed initially under the NHP and currently being updated under the EEH, allows teachers and principals simplified access to school data for better analysis of educational performance and for better management of the educational experience in terms of specific student needs.
JSAS is designed specifically for primary-level schools and is capable of fulfilling most of the administrative requirements of these institutions. It registers students, facilitates class placements, records daily attendance, generates term and year reports, tracks and ranks student performance – individually or by class and gender. Training on the use of the JSAS has been provided to selected teachers from all 71 project schools and participating NGOs.
